Iranian Agricultural Economics Society was established in 1993 in order to provide a forum for agricultural economists and others concerned with agricultural economics problems, including problems related to the use of renewable resources and the environment. Its broad goal is to make difference through: Fostering the application of agricultural economics to improve rural economics to improve rural economic and social conditions. Advancing knowledge of agriculture's economic organization. Facilitating communication and information exchange among those concerned with rural welfare. Current membership includes professionals from various areas including academics, government, agricultural industry and students. The IAAE has a biennial conference held in major cities around the country and typically attracts around 1,000 delegates from universities, government and agricultural industry. Since its establishment, the society has managed to organize eight conferences with support of government and non- government organizations which the latest one was held at Shiraz University. In addition, the society stated to publish a scientific quarterly journal titled "Agricultural Economics" in 2005 .The journal is pre-reviewed and each issue covers ten to 12 scientific research papers on subjects related to agricultural economics.
